Culture Care: Reconnecting with Beauty for Our Common Life

Explore a Christian vision of cultural stewardship rooted in beauty, creativity, and generosity.

In this revised second edition of Culture Care, artist Makoto Fujimura calls readers to care for culture as a shared resource. He invites people to consider how beauty and creativity can serve neighbors and the generations to come.

The book speaks to visual artists, musicians, writers, actors, entrepreneurs, pastors, and others with a calling to create. Fujimura encourages reaching across boundaries through understanding, reconciliation, and generous contributions to a common life.

A new introduction and additional material address culture care in a time of cultural conflict. The edition adds insights on generative thinking, culture care as public theology, and stories that put these ideas into practice.

With approximately fifteen percent new content and a study guide for individual reflection or group discussion, the book offers readers a practical framework for considering their place in the care of culture.
