Saving a children’s library program means working with the man she promised to avoid.

When children’s librarian Martha Aldridge learns that budget cuts will put her out of a job and shut down the library’s children’s programs, she is determined to raise the funds to save both. She knows who to ask for a large donation. The bad news? She swore she’d never step into his office again.

Julien King has been groomed to run his family’s publishing empire. Now he must prove he’s ready by turning around the company’s languishing children’s imprint, although he knows little about children’s literature.

When Martha arrives, Julien makes an offer she can’t refuse. He’ll give her the money the library needs in exchange for her help finding a manuscript that can resurrect the dying imprint. The longer they work together, the more they realize their jobs may not be the only thing on the line.
