A fast read. I could feel the emotions of the main character. Shows a mighty God who is always with us.

I didn't want to put the book down! Very detailed and intriguing. Alana is an amazing author. The characters are good and the plot is written very well.

I listened to Out of North Korea on audiobook. This book was filled with a roller coaster of emotions. Alana Terry has a talent for taking a tragic situation and throwing in her amazing sense of humor. The young man in the story did nothing wrong but was branded as a spy and thrown into a North Korean prison. However, the author gave this guy a humorous outlook on life no matter what happened. I found myself laughing all the way through it. Not only that, but the reader is one of the best I’ve

I really enjoyed this story! It gripped me from the very first and i wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next! Ian was a very believable character and I was pulled into his story from the first. I was amazed at how the author included so much humor and sarcasm in a novel with such a sad story line. I definitely want to read more!

Best book I have read in a while. I thought it would be depressing, but instead it was truly inspiring

I began reading knowing what the content may be too depressing for me. However, as the author wrote from the perspective of Ian, the photo journalist who had a great sense of humor, it wasn't as dark and depressing as I had feared.Very encouraging to see how this former Believer returned to his faith. I have wayward kids and this encouraged/convicted me.

Where do I begin? First I’d like to say Thank You Alana Terry for writing Christian fiction. I’ve read this entire series about Kennedy and well prior to this pandemic I probably wouldn’t have said that you saved the best for last with Ian’s story. Before Covid I would’ve thought his story was an after thought, even a stand alone but now, OMG I cried and prayed so much, there are no truer words-... to whom much is given, much will be required Luke 12:48. Keep on moving the kingdom forward.

Such a difficult subject, and while there was no physical beating abuse, the mental abuse the author showed us was real enough. Very well written!
