Write to God in a journal, just like you're having a conversation with him about your day. That's a form of prayer.

If you find it hard to begin your conversation with God, start off with praying scripture, or a pre-written prayer. You might find after a few lines, you start adding your own thoughts and prayers...but even if you don't, that's okay.

Sometimes your prayers are answered in very unexpected ways. Don't limit God by what you think is probable, or even possible.

Dear God,
Thank you for the gift of books and movies and all sorts of art. You are a creative God, and you've given humanity a piece of that part of yourself. We pray for the wisdom to wisely choose the media we consume, as well as the freedom not to discard things that aren't overtly "Christian." Give us the ability to glean biblical truths from all kinds of creative work, and in doing so to deepen our relationship with you, and to bring you glory!
In Jesus' name, Amen.
