Our prayer for you today ...
Dear God,
Thank you for being a loving Father, the Giver of every good gift we can imagine! We confess that there are times when our deepest hearts' desires take over and become idols. Thank you for knowing us intimately, and loving us even when the gifts become more important than you, the Giver. We ask that you would help us to let go of anything that has become an idol in our prayer lives, and instead embrace your all-knowing, wiser-and-better-than-we-can-imagine plans for us, and love you far more than any prayer request or want.
At the same time, we pray that we would never censor ourselves or our prayers in your presence. Show us the balance between praying big, bold prayers and releasing our wants and needs into your capable, loving hands.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
